Der Entwickler Mercat Games und der Publisher Ultimate Games haben Frigato: Shadows of the Caribbean offiziell angekündigt. Das neue Echtzeit-Taktik-Spiel soll 2023 für den PC via Steam und die Konsolen XBox Series X|S, XBox One und Nintendo Switch erscheinen. Während des nächsten Steam Next-Festivals im Juni 20222 wird es außerdem möglich sein, kurzfristig eine Demo-Version zu spielen. Als Inspirationsquellen wählten die Entwickler so legendäre Spiele wie Commandos, Desperados oder Shadow Tactics.

“In Frigato, we combine the elements of pirate adventures, dark legends and rowdy humour into a unique whole. The game will loosely refer to the so-called golden age of piracy – the 17th and 18th century. Gameplay-wise, it should appeal to fans of games like Shadow Tactics, Desperados, Commandos, War Mongrels and Partisans 1941” – said Jakub Brzeziński, game designer at Mercat Games.
„Frigato will debut on PC, followed by Xbox and Nintendo Switch releases. Perhaps later it will also appear on PlayStation consoles. Importantly, soon everyone will be able to check the game for themselves thanks to the demo, featuring a long mission, which we will present during the Steam Next festival, starting June 13th this year” – announced Rafał Jelonek, COO at Ultimate Games S.A.
